A Shared Space: Pop-up VR Hub in Portland
Join 2017 Kindling Fund grantee Daniel Quintanilla and his collaborative VR film project, A Shared Space, for a Pop-Up VR Hub during First Friday Art Walk in Portland on October 6, 2017. Friends Hilowle and Shuab grew up in the world’s largest refugee camp. Today, both have started families and call Lewiston, Maine home. A Shared Space is an immersive 360° experience inviting all of us to ask questions about the physical and social spaces we inhabit and what we lose when we are out of contact with one another. After part of the project debuted in the VR hub at the Camden International Film Festival (CIFF), Quintanilla will be touring the VR film into the public realm in various pop-ups throughout Maine.
